The ShelterCare Card is a membership savings program that provides savings on veterinary care for your dogs and cats. It is a valuable addition to the ShelterCare Insurance program which provides a gift of pet insurance for 30 days after you adopt a pet from an eligible shelter.

Are there any exclusions to the savings available? [ click here ]
Any veterinary service available at provider clinics will be given preferred pricing. Items such as food, toys and non-professional services (i.e. grooming, boarding) are not part of the program.
Can an adopter purchase this program if the pet has a pre-existing condition?[ click here ]
Yes. Unlike insurance programs the savings provided through the ShelterCare Card are applicable regardless of the pet’s past medical history.
How does the ShelterCare Card work? [ click here ]
The ShelterCare Card must be presented to the provider at the time of service. The fees that the provider will charge are based on the agreed upon prices established between the provider and the USA Pet Health Network. The provider will verify the card holder’s eligibility and confirm the preferred rates to be paid.
Who is responsible for activating the ShelterCare Card? [ click here ]
The Pet owner is responsible for activating the card by logging on to www.usapethealthnetwork.com or by calling 1-866-388-7297 (PAWS). The ShelterCare Card costs $59.95 per year (dog) or $44.95 per year (cat) with additional pets being $20 per year, per pet.

The USA Pet Health Network is a preferred veterinary pricing program marketed exclusively to the owners of animals adopted from participating animal welfare organizations.
Who is managing the USA Pet Health Network program? [ click here ]
The program is offered through the partnership between USA Pet Health Network, a veterinary health network based in Austin, Texas, and Pethealth Inc. a leading provider of insurance and information services to the companion animal market. USA Pet Health Network is the primary contact for participating veterinarians while Pethealth is the principal contact for participating animal welfare organizations, cardholders and companion animal owners.
